They promised that Jibo can:
See – Face tracking and Activity tracking. Automatically takes photos/videos when it detects a memorable activity.
Hear – Sound activated commands with 360 degrees microphones.
Learn – Its AI algorithm learns your preferences and adapt to your life.
Help – You can ask Jibo simple questions like converting units with voice activation.
Speak – Jibo will speak back to you with reminders and answers to your questions.
Relate – With face tracking and mood tracking, Jibo can react to your mood accordingly.
Jibo will also dance around in place. Its face is a screen; therefore, it can show you graphics information including face expressions.
Verdict
With the shipment delayed from 2015 to the end of 2017, big companies like Amazon, Google, and Apple have developed/released their versions of “voice assisted AI speakers”. Jibo, as a startup company, would need a lot of catch up to stay on the market. Currently, Jibo still doesn’t support music streaming or home automation actions. But their uniquely cute design has its stand in the category.
